Oman-India strategic consultations team holds meeting

New Delhi: The strategic consultations team between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India today held its 13th meeting in New Delhi, India.

The Omani side was represented during the meeting by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Indian side was represented by Arun Kumar Chatterjee, Secretary in the Consular, Passport, Visa and Overseas Indian Affairs (CPV & OIA) in the Ministry of External Affairs.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in various economic fields. They also highlighted means of boosting trade and investment exchange, as well as enhancing cultural and educational cooperation.

The meeting touched on the preparations to mark in 2025 the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Sheikh Khalifa met with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister.

During this meeting, the two sides exchanged views on future cooperation and developments on the regional and international arenas.

Sheikh Khalifa lauded the Omani-Indian relations and the strategic partnership between the two countries.

He also underscored the importance of augmenting cooperation in the fields of innovation and sustainable development. -ONA
