Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,573.49 points, up by 0.08% from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.86% at 421.72 points. Oman Cables Industry, up 6.43%, was the top gainer while, Al Suwadi Power, down 4.29%, was the top loser. Shares of OQEP were the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 820 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR6.48 million, with more than 21.69 million shares changing hands. Out of 41 traded securities, 10 advanced, 16 declined, and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net buyers for OMR906,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR775,000, followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR130,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,687.73 points, down 0.34%. Prices of Al Anwar Investment were up by 1.52% respectively. Prices of Muscat Finance, Global Financial Investments, Bank Nizwa, Sohar International Bank, Oman Arab Bank were down by 2.27%, 1.21%, 1.02%, 0.74%, 0.69% respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,290.74 points, up 0.62%. Prices of Oman Cables Industry, Oman Chromite were up by 6.43%, 3.78% respectively. Prices of Galfar Engineering, Al Anwar Ceramics, Oman Flour Mills were down by 1.05%, 1.00%, 0.44% respectively.
Services Index was down by 0.17% before closing at 1,737.65 points. Prices of Renaissance Services, Oman National Engineering, Oman Telecom, Al Maha Markting, Abraj Energy were up by 2.39%, 1.71%, 0.76%, 0.48%, 0.36% respectively. Prices of Al Suwadi Power, Al Batinah Power, National Gas, Barka Water & Power Company, Muscat Desalination were down by 4.29%, 4.29%, 2.41%, 1.56%, 1.49% respectively.
