His Excellency Sheikh Ghuson bin Hilal Al-Alawi, Chairman of State Audit Institution, emphasized the Institution’s keenness to carry out its national role, in conjunction with state institutions, to preserve the nation's capabilities and enhance the overall development march through institutional and societal partnership and integration.
This was reflected in the statement of His Excellency on the country's celebration of the 54th National Day, as he stated that the celebration of this glorious occasion should review the efforts that were carefully and diligently made over the past year and the results of which were reaped on the ground, as well as taking pride in the significant and successive accomplishments made in the areas of audit and integrity promotion in the Sultanate of Oman.
His Excellency emphasized that the interest and care of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said for the financial and administrative audit march in the Sultanate of Oman had a great impact in enhancing the ability of SAI to exercise its responsibilities and implement its tasks efficiently and effectively. He further added that SAI is keen to direct all its resources with high professional efficiency and care towards achieving the goals assigned to it, in a way that achieves the comprehensive and sustainable development objectives. In addition, H.E the Chairman highlighted that the Institution follows methodologies and professional standards issued by international organizations in a manner that is consistent with internal systems and regulations, and it is moving forward in developing its technical systems and human resources. By carrying out audit tasks, SAI works to achieve added value with various effects in financial and non-financial aspects, in addition to preparing studies in aspects related to its responsibilities and tasks, in a way that embodies the firm approach of the Sultanate of Oman and reflects the high keenness of His Majesty the Sultan to uphold the principles of integrity and accountability in all sectors. Moreover, the Chairman’s statement referred to the Institution’s efforts to achieve Oman Vision 2040 and its objectives to develop a transparent, fair, effective and independent oversight system that allows access to information and use of such in evaluating the development march, and establishes a harmonious and positive relationship between society and state institutions, as well as enables the activation of the principle of accountability for performance, which raises the level of services provided and contributes to protecting public fund and national capabilities of the Sultanate of Oman.
In concluding his statement, H.E. Sheikh Ghuson bin Hilal Al-Alawi affirmed that SAI has not and will not spare any efforts to effectively contribute to promoting the development march across the country, along with all various state institutions, and harnesses all its potentials and human capacities to preserve public fund and the nation's capabilities and public property, as well as to safeguard its achievements. In addition, SAI contributes to the country's progress and prosperity as well as integrity promotion, besides activates community and institutional participation; so that every citizen and resident on this good land is an example of loyalty to the homeland and honest in performing job, each according to his position, in order that the country enjoys prosperity, stability and security under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
