Muscat: The 8th session of the Joint Omani-Bahraini Committee was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Dr. Abdullatif Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In his speech, Sayyid Badr said that the 8th meeting of the joint committee reflects the depth of fraternal relations between Oman and Bahrain. It also, he added, contributes to enhancing cooperation opportunities in various fields.
Sayyid Badr also highlighted the remarkable advancement in economic relations between the two countries. Trade exchange till August 2024 reached OMR118 million. Joint investments are also witnessing growth in the fields of infrastructure, tourism, logistic services, industry and the banking sector.
He also underscored the importance of pressing ahead in the march of boosting strategic partnerships, as well as exploring new horizons for mutual benefits.
On his turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain expressed his deep appreciation for being received by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. He also lauded the continuous political cooperation between Oman and Bahrain.
Al Zayani pointed out that cooperation between the two countries includes coordination and consultations about regional and international issues and challenges. This cooperation, he affirmed, boosts the efforts exerted to support regional peace and stability.
At the conclusion of the session, the two ministers signed the minutes of meeting of the 8th session of the joint Omani-Bahraini committee.
The session was attended from the Omani side by Khalid Hashel Al Muslehi, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Sheikh Ahmed Hashel Al Maskri, Head of the GCC Department at the Foreign Ministry and Sayyid Faisal Harib Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Moreover, the session was attended from the Bahraini side by Hamad Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Dr. Juma Ahmed Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Sultanate of Oman.
