Muscat: It is expected that the Sultanate of Oman’s National Day holiday will fall on Monday and Tuesday, November 18-19, 2024 according to the Royal Decree No. 88/2022.
People were expecting the holiday would be moved to Wednesday and Thursday, November 27-28, 2024, to provide an extended holiday for the public.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued a Royal Decree No. 88/2022 fixing official holidays. Article 1 of the Decree stated that official holidays for units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus, public legal entities and establishments of the private sector with regard to Eids and other occasions listed below shall be fixed as follows:
1-Hijri New Year’s Day to be on 1 Muharram.
2-The Prophet’s Birthday to be on 12 Rabee Al Awwal.
3-Al Isra'a Wal Miraj to be on 27 Rajab.
4-The National Day to be on 18 and 19 November.
5- His Majesty the Sultan's Accession Day on January 11.
If any of the days of the weekly off coincides with the above-mentioned holidays, it shall be compensated by a single day. The dates of the above-mentioned holidays may be amended if public interest so dictates.
