Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,747.43 points, down by 0.04% from previous close. The Shariah Index ended up by 0.27% at 431.80 points. Al Madina Investments, up 4.08%, was the top gainer while, Dhofar Cattle Feed, down 8.82%, was the top loser. Shares of OQEP were the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 1619 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR6.3 million, with more than 22.13 million shares changing hands. Out of 46 traded securities, 12 advanced, 15 declined, and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net buyers for OMR1,683,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR848,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR835,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,891.31 points, down 0.29%. Prices of Al Madina Investments, Oman United Insurance were up by 4.08%, 2.04% respectively. Prices of Al Sharqia Investment, OMINVEST, Global Financial Investments, Bank Muscat, National Bank Oman were down by 2.78%, 1.37%, 1.18%, 0.39%, 0.33% respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,414.23 points, up 0.19%. Prices of Galfar Engineering, Oman Chromite, A’Saffa Foods, Jazeera Steel Products were up by 2.78%, 2.54%, 1.32%, 0.35% respectively. Prices of Dhofar Cattle Feed, Al Anwar Ceramics, Voltamp Energy were down by 8.82%, 0.78%, 0.25% respectively.
Services Index was up by 0.23% before closing at 1,831.90 points. Prices of Oman National Engineering, Barka Water & Power Company, Al Batinah Power, OQ Gas Networks, Ooredoo were up by 2.48%, 1.75%, 1.22%, 0.73%, 0.37% respectively. Prices of Al Jazeera Services, Muscat Desalination, National Gas, Oman Oil Marketing, Renaissance Services were down by 9.41%, 1.41%, 1.25%, 0.63%, 0.52% respectively.
