14 held for smuggling diesel in Oman

Muscat: Fourteen Asian expats were arrested on charges of smuggling diesel, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced.

The Musandam Coast Guard seized one boat that was attempting to smuggle diesel fuel.

In an online statement, ROP said: "Musandam and Kumzar Coast Guard police boats seized one diesel smuggling boat, carrying 14 people of Asian nationality, and the individuals were arrested on charges of diesel smuggling."

“During the inspection, tanks and containers filled with large quantities of diesel fuel were confiscated,” the statement added.

Those arrested were handed over to the Customs Department in Musandam to complete the legal proceedings against them.
