Muscat: Latest satellite images indicate a low pressure area forming east of the Arabian Sea along the western coast of the Republic of India which is likely to bring rainfall in parts of the Sultanate of Oman on Friday, October 18, 2024, announced the General Directorate of Meteorology.
The Directorate in a alert said that the wind speed is currently ranging between 10 to 15 knots. There is also chances of cumulonimbus cloud activity and scattered rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, active descending winds which may lead to overflowing valleys in Al Hajar Mountains, neighbouring areas and Dhofar Governorate in the afternoon and evening.
