Muscat: Oman Airports has dealt with an emergency landing of a plane at Muscat International Airport belonging to a foreign airline heading to Mumbai Airport in India.
Oman Airports said: “As part of our commitment to the highest standards of safety and joint cooperation, Oman Airports and the Royal Oman Police dealt with an emergency landing of a plane belonging to a foreign airline, which was on its way from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to Mumbai Airport in India, when it encountered an emergency situation that required changing its course and landing in Muscat International Airport.
Accordingly, emergency landing procedures were implemented and immediate coordination was carried out between the emergency teams at Muscat International Airport and the relevant concerned authorities to ensure effective handling of the situation after landing, where all passengers were evacuated from the aircraft safely and in accordance with approved procedures.
The aircraft also underwent a thorough and comprehensive inspection by the specialized teams to ensure its safety and eliminate any potential risks and will continue its journey to its final destination. Oman Airports stresses that its top priority is the safety and security of passengers, and that all the operations were carried out in accordance with the standards followed to ensure aviation safety and security, praising the efforts of all teams that participated in this process.
