Oman rains: Wilayat of Sur records 215 mm rainfall in three days

Muscat: The Wilayat of Sur in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate has recorded the highest amount of rainfall in the Sultanate of Oman due to the tropical  condition which was 215 mm during three days from October 14 till October 16, 2024.

According to the data issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR), the Wilayat of Sur recorded the highest amount of rainfall due to the tropical condition, at 215 mm, followed by the Wilayat of Qurayyat in Muscat Governorate with 170 mm, and the Wilayat of Muscat  with 100 mm, from October 14 to 16.

While the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Ali in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate has received 94 mm of rainfall, 68 mm in the Wilayat of Muttrah in Muscat Governorate, 52 mm in the Wilayat of Dima Wattayyen in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate , 33 mm in the Wilayat of Wadi Bani Khalid located in same governorate , 31 in the Wilayat of Masirah  in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate and 27 mm in the Wilayat of Amerat in Muscat Governorate.

The Wilayat of Ibra in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate has recorded 22 mm of rainfall, 16 mm of rainfall in the Wilayat of Baushar in Muscat Governorate , 12 mm in the Wilayat of Seeb in same governorate , 11 mm in the Wilayat of Al Qabil in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate and 9 mm in the Wilayat of Al Kamil and Al Wafi in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.
