Muscat: For the first time in the history of the Sultanate's ports, Asyad will use a remote-controlled drone to examine the port of Sohar for further improvement.
The aircraft will be used for port maintenance and aerial photography to detect damage to the port's infrastructure, including seaports, marine docks, and ship-collision barrier and analysis using artificial intelligence techniques.
The experiment is aimed at measuring the possibility of conducting craft maintenance without any human intervention, characterized by high speed and efficiency required.
Oman Logistics Center said in a statement online: "The importance of this experiment stems from the fact that technology can be used to improve Omani port services. where drones will be used to analyze image data using artificial intelligence algorithms to improve inspection services and maintain the port infrastructure with the aim of raising the level of security and safety service when conducting operations."
The experimental testing was conducted in the presence of Asyad technology team, the executive leaders in the ports of the Sultanate, Where (HAITCH-D) company, in cooperation with the Sohar Port, launched a live experience of the use of drone aircraft.
