Muscat: The low pressure in the Arabian Sea has been classified as tropical depression, with wind speeds of 20-25 knots at its centre, and is located approximately 950 kilometres from the Oman’s coastline.
According to the last update from the Civil Aviation Authority, the system is located near latitude 16°N and longitude 66.5°E. indicating that it is moving westward towards the Dhofar Governorate and the Gulf of Aden.
The CAA has said it may develop into a deep depression over the next two days and the Sultanate could be affected with cloud advection accompanied by varying intensities of rainfall starting from the night of Monday, October 14, 2024.”
