National Museum organises an event on Russian artist

Muscat: The National Museum, represented by the Learning Centre in collaboration with Chechen State Pedagogical University in the Russian Federation, organised a cultural event celebrating the Russian artist and writer Alexander Pushkin.

This event targets school, college, and university students, with the support of BP Oman.

The event opening was attended by Jamal bin Hassan Al Moosawi, Secretary General of the National Museum, Ilya Morgunov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Sultanate of Oman, and a group of students and academics.

This event is part of the cultural cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Russian Federation, aiming to enhance students’ understanding of global cultures and enrich their knowledge of the history of world literature, which therefore broadens their academic and cultural horizons.

It also provided a unique opportunity for cultural exchange with Russian students, contributing to building bridges of communication and understanding between Omani and Russian cultures.

The event included live performances of poetic readings and a play inspired by the works of Alexander Pushkin, in which a group of students from Chechen State Pedagogical University participate. It also featured a poetic reading from the poem “Eugene Onegin,” which is considered a literary masterpiece combining narrative poetry and prose storytelling, regarded as one of the greatest classic Russian literature.
