NASA Space Apps Challenge Hackathon begins in Bidiya

Muscat: The Wilayat of Bidiya in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate is hosting NASA Space Applications Hackathon 2024. Organised by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Ibra Branch, for two days under the slogan "The Sun Touches Everything", the event began on Saturday .

More than 75 teams representing students of higher educational institutions, schools, researchers, academics, community groups, and those with ideas or interests to solve Earth and space problems are participating in the global event in its second edition in the Sultanate of Oman.

Mahmoud bin Yahya Al Dhahli, Governor of North Al Sharqiyah, stressed the importance of hosting this global event through the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Ibra Branch, for the second year in a row to achieve many goals that are consistent with national trends in the world of space and in harmony with the vision of "Oman 2040", and enhances awareness and interest in space sciences and investment in this vital sector.

North Al Sharqiyah Governorate is hosting this global event with the aim of enhancing its position as a major centre for technological innovation and scientific research and encouraging cooperation between academic and industrial institutions at the local and international levels, in addition to striving to achieve excellence in research, innovation and entrepreneurship to contribute to development and build a sustainable and strategic partnership that supports the “Oman 2040” vision.
