Muscat: The first leg of the annual local camel races for the 2024/2025 season, organised by the Oman Camel Racing Federation, kicked off today at Al-Bashir Camel Race Track in the Wilayat of Adam in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, and will continue for three days.
Today's race witnessed the holding of 18 rounds for the category of Hajjaj, including 12 rounds for young camels and 6 rounds for Jaadan for a distance of "3" kilometers with the participation of about 650 camels and Jaadan from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
The results were as follows: In the first round, /Tamweel/ came in first place for its owner Imad Al-Junaibi. In the second round, /Shaheen/ came in first place for its owner Badr Al-Junaibi. In the third round, /Malfat/ came in first place for its owner Saeed Al-Jahhafi. In the fourth round, /Midhiyar/ came in first place for its owner Muslim Al-Durai. In the fifth round, /Tharwa/ came in first place for its owner Nasser Al-Durai. In the sixth round, /Ghazi/ came in first place for its owner Nasser Al-Durai. In the seventh round, /Al-Reef/ came in first place for its owner Saeed Al-Wahaibi. In the eighth round, /Al-Dhabi/ came in first place for its owner Saud Al-Amri.
In the ninth round, /Mublash/ owned by Saeed Al-Jahhafi came in first place, in the tenth round, /Wujud/ owned by Hamoud Al-Jahhafi came in first place, in the eleventh round, /Syouf/ owned by Saeed Al-Wahaibi came in first place, in the twelfth round, /Hattash/ owned by Nasser Al-Ghaithi came in first place, in the thirteenth round, /Intibah/ owned by Hamoud Al-Hadawi came in first place.
In the fourteenth round, /Dhakhira/ owned by Salem Al-Awisi came in first place, in the fifteenth round, /Munawar/ owned by Ghaleb Al-Duwaiki came in first place, in the sixteenth round, /Inzar/ owned by Al-Badi Al-Harsosi came in first place, in the seventeenth round, /Al-Shaheeniya/ owned by Ibrahim Al-Junaibi came in first place, while in the eighteenth round, /Shart/ owned by Mabkhout bin Ahmed Saeed came in first place.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the first leg of the local camel races will continue on the second day of the Al-Bishara races in Adam State, with 12 rounds for the Al-Laqaya category, over a distance of 4 kilometers.
