Following the resounding success of the inaugural Taste of Shangri-La in 2023, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah and Shangri-La Al Husn are excited to announce the second edition of this exquisite culinary festival. From 3rd to 31st of October, guests are invited to indulge in a month-long celebration featuring specially curated 6-course tasting menus at Muscat's premier dining venues, priced at just OMR 19 net per person.

This gastronomic event will also feature the participation of other Shangri-La hotels, spanning nine iconic destinations, including Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, London, Paris, New Delhi, Bangalore, and Istanbul.

In Muscat, culinary enthusiasts can explore a world of flavours at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah and Shangri-La Al Husn’s five specialty dining venues- Bait Al Bahr, Capri Court, Chow Mee, Sultanah to Aangan by Rohit Ghai.

Each restaurant will present an impressive 6-course tasting menu, showcasing the fusion of traditional and modern cuisines, as well as the freshest Omani ingredients.
Rohit Ghai is also coming to Muscat’s shores from 6th to 10th of October for a 5-day ‘dine and meet’ where he will be cooking his 6-course tasting menu at Aangan.

“We are extremely proud that this remarkable culinary event, launched by Shangri-La Muscat in 2023, is now being recognised and celebrated across nine iconic destinations this year,” said Philippe Kronberg, Resort General Manager of Shangri-La Muscat resorts. “We invite diners to savour this unique opportunity to explore the diversity of our cuisines for just OMR 19, right by the shores of Oman.”

Indian Elegance with Chef Rohit Ghai at Aangan:

To mark this culinary festival, internationally acclaimed Chef Rohit Ghai will be back at Aangan, one of his seven worldwide restaurants, from 6th to 10th of October inclusive to meet and cook for diners. Serving contemporary Indian cuisine, Chef Ghai will showcase his speciality and new dishes on the menu, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Expect an explosion of flavours with the sweet potato with Rajasthani chutney, Cafreal fish with Goan spices, chicken malai tikka, lamb kebab, prawn moilee with curry leaves and coconut, all served with lentil, rice and selection of Chef’s breads. For dessert, guests will enjoy Ghai’s favorite—rose Shirkhand, made with yogurt, rose jelly, and topped with berries.

The Art of Seafood at Bait Al Bahr:
At Muscat’s oldest seafood restaurant, guests will experience a culinary journey where the freshest catches from the Omani sea take center stage, accompanied by breathtaking ocean views. The menu features signature dishes like burrata, charred octopus, tuna sashimi, roasted seabass, Peruvian-style salmon, and a delightful mango and lime crème brûlée.

Timeless Italian Flavours at Capri Court:
The diverse regions of Italy come to life at Capri Court, offering a genuine taste of Italy. Diners can enjoy homemade duck prosciutto, artisanal butternut gnocchi, grilled codfish, creamy risotto topped with seared scallops, and a rich chocolate ganache for dessert.

Vibrant Southeast Asian Cuisine at Chow Mee:
Chow Mee offers a lively, family-style dining experience featuring bold flavors from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. The 6-course menu includes Panna Cotta with chicken salad, crispy fried fish with fresh mango salad, Tom Yum prawn soup, traditional Thai beef Massaman curry, grilled seabass, and a coconut flan for dessert.

Sail through the Mediterranean Seas at Sultanah:
Sultanah celebrates the Mediterranean with a sophisticated menu inspired by the first Omani cruise liner that sailed to New York in 1840. The journey begins with a crab salad and pan-fried seabass, followed by salmon medallion in delicate broth. For the mains, guests can savour roasted lamb loin and a trio of duck dishes. The meal concludes with a rich dark chocolate fondant.
