Muscat: The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Oman organized a special reception in honor of renowned Dutch film director Ap Verheggen. Mr. Verheggen is a creative artist who succeeded in harvesting water from desert air and is known for his innovative solutions that combine the natural world, and humanity's impact.
The event was hosted by H.E. Stella Kloth, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Oman,
at her residence on Monday, September 30th, 2024.
Ap Verheggen is visiting Oman to showcase his acclaimed documentary Iceberg Riders at the European Union Film Festival. The documentary highlights pressing issues surrounding climate change, drawing attention to the impact of melting icebergs on global communities.
The director has visited and will continue to visit universities in Oman, offering workshops on his innovations and exploring how art and design can contribute to addressing challenges related to climate change.
The reception provided a unique opportunity to engage with the filmmaker, as well as discuss critical topics such as sustainability, innovation, and the environment.
