Muscat: Asian Paints Berger, Asia's second-largest paint manufacturer and the winner of Oman’s Most Trusted Brand, launched its highly anticipated 'Colour of the Year' for 2024 at a prestigious Colour Next event hosted at Kempinski Al Mouj, Oman.
The unveiling of 'Terra' marks a significant moment in the world of design and aesthetics, reflecting a deep collaboration between Asian Paints and global creative experts.
Under the auspices of Sayyid Khalid bin Hamad al Busaidi, the event was attended by Pragyan Kumar, Chief Executive of Asian Paints International, Joseph Eapen, Associate Vice President of Asian Paints International and G Gopalakrishnan, General Manager of Asian Paints Berger Oman, alongside many dignitaries from Oman's architectural and design communities.
Each year, the company collaborates with a diverse array of experts—from architects to designers, historians to sociologists—to curate ColourNext, a visionary forecast encompassing colours, materials, textures, and design trends from across the globe.
This forecast is a culmination of a yearlong research in changing societal trends and the reflection of designs, materials, and colours in context of these changes.
Since its inception in 2003, ColourNext has evolved into Asia's foremost authority on colour and material intelligence, offering insights that resonate deeply with societal and cultural shifts. This year, 'Terra' emerges as a tribute to Oman's rich heritage and natural landscapes, drawing inspiration from the rugged mountains and traditional architecture that define the nation. With its warm, earthy tones, 'Terra' embodies stability and harmony, making it ideal for creating inviting and culturally resonant living spaces.
In addition to the 'Colour of the Year' revelation, Asian Paints Berger also unveiled four inspirational trends for 2024: 'Soil', encouraging innovative material usage; 'Into the Deep', celebrating the mysteries of oceanic depths; 'Retro Futurism', blending nostalgia with futuristic visions; and 'Goblin Mode', embracing imperfection as a form of liberation.
Speaking at the event, Pragyan Kumar emphasized Asian Paints' commitment to enhancing consumer experiences through innovative design solutions. "Asian Paints remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of creativity and functionality," he remarked. "Our mission is to offer products that not only solve consumer challenges but also resonate aesthetically and culturally. Through our ongoing research and collaboration with industry leaders, we aim to inspire designs that enrich lives and reflect a holistic understanding of global trends."
The launch of 'Terra' and the accompanying trends underscores Asian Paints Berger's leadership in the realm of home decor and design innovation, reinforcing their role as a pioneer in creating vibrant, meaningful living spaces.
