Muscat: Represented by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the Sultanate of Oman will host the Second Arab Tourism Statistics Forum 2024, which will be held in October in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Arab League.
The forum, which will take place in Muscat from 14 to 16 October 2024, provides an opportunity to showcase Oman’s efforts to achieve its tourism goals and enhance its stature as a distinctive tourist destination in the region.
Dr. Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Barwani, CEO of the NCSI, said, “This forum coincides with the celebration of Oman’s Wilayat of Sur as the Arab Tourism Capital for the year 2024. It constitutes an opportunity to consolidate cooperation among Arab countries in developing statistical indicators used in measuring and analyzing tourism performance.”
Al Barwani noted that emphasis will be laid on exchanging expertise and improving the quality of statistical data by providing accurate information that supports tourism decision-making.
He added that the forum will also see the participation of experts and specialists from various countries of the world, in addition to representatives of regional and international organizations concerned.
