Muscat: HH Sayyid Fahd Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers today received Dr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq.
The guest conveyed greetings and best wishes of success of the Iraqi leadership to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and the Omani government. He also conveyed their wishes of further development for Oman.
The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and means of enhancing them in various fields.
Further, the two sides discussed several matters of mutual interest and exchanged views regarding developments on the regional and international arenas. They also highlighted the efforts exerted to make security and stability prevail in the region in a bid to serve the interests of the region’s peoples and augments international cooperation.
Both sides underscored the importance of activating the joint Oman-Iraqi Committee and boosting consultations between the two sides in matters of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Qais Saad Al Amri, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Sultanate of Oman.
