Muscat: EGYPTAIR, the national carrier of Egypt, established on May 7th,1932, making it the first airline in the Middle East, Africa and the seventh globally to join the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

In July 2008, EGYPTAIR joined the Star Alliance, becoming the 21st member of this global alliance with its route network extending to 1,300 destinations across 192 countries. Over its 90-year history, the airline has undergone significant growth and development.

EGYPTAIR’s fleet currently consists of 69 of the latest aircraft types,serving both domestic and international routes, as well as cargo operations.

The Egyptian government is committed to strengthening cooperation with Arab nations aiming to establish strong partnerships in many fields especially in the civil aviation sector.

There are strong historical ties between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, particularly in the aviation sector. Oman serves as a gateway to India and the Far East, while Egypt is the primary gateway to Africa and Europe.

This geographical positioning has deepened cooperation between the two countries and enhanced air traffic in the Middle East.

In 2021, EGYPTAIR and Oman Air signed a codeshare agreement, enabling both national carriers to expand their route networks. This agreement offers passengers greater flexibility to explore both countries, whether for business or leisure purposes. EGYPTAIR currently operates five weekly flights to Muscat.
