Quriyat: The Ministry of Health on Tuesday celebrated the opening of the expansion of the gynaecology and obstetrics clinics at Quriyat Hospital in Muscat Governorate, under the patronage of Dr. Said Harib Al Lamki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs.
Dr. Saif bin Rashid Al Tamimi, Chairman of Quriyat Hospital, said: “Last year, the new physiotherapy department was opened, the maternity ward was refurbished, and the hospital was provided with some equipment, in cooperation with the private sector, including a physiotherapy device and an ultrasound device.”
He added that the hospital enjoys great attention from the Directorate General of Health Services in Muscat Governorate to develop the hospital, whether in terms of expanding the building, medical equipment and medicines, raising the efficiency of the medical team and increasing services.
He noted that the hospital is constantly seeking to raise the efficiency of the medical team through courses at the hospital or governorate level in cooperation with the Oman Medical Specialty Board and the American Heart Association and with contributions from the private sector.
It is worth noting that Quriyat Hospital has witnessed a number of updates aimed at improving the quality of healthcare provided to patients and enhancing work efficiency, including the virtual emergency medicine project in its pilot phase with its direct link with the Royal Hospital, which will contribute to effective communication, and providing an ultrasound device for the emergency department to improve the quality of medical examinations and appropriate diagnosis, especially for emergency cases and cases of very serious injuries, in addition to providing a mobile incubator device for premature babies to facilitate the transfer of critical cases to referral hospitals in Muscat.
