Oman, Brazil hold official talks session

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and the Federative Republic of Brazil on Sunday held in Muscat a session of political talks.

During the session, the Omani side was headed by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, while the Brazilian side was headed by Mauro Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The two sides reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation in various fields, marking the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Oman and Brazil. They also explored means of boosting economic and trade partnerships.

The session highlighted the importance of focusing on mutual investments in the fields of renewable energy and agriculture.

Both sides underlined the importance of utilizing the strategic location of the two countries in augmenting trade exchange and growing the volume of joint investments.

Moreover, the two sides touched on regional and international developments, as well as the joint efforts that are exerted to consolidate security and stability in the region and the world at large.

The Brazilian minister lauded the role undertaken by the Sultanate of Oman in enhancing regional stability. He also expressed his country’s keenness to boost relations on all levels in a bid to achieve joint development and prosperity.

Sayyid Badr commended the efforts exerted by Brazil in adopting several international topics that benefit humanity.

Further, the two sides underscored the importance of promoting political dialogue and constant coordination in international fora.

The session was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs and several officials from both sides.
