Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism will organise a number of events in the coming period to attract tourists from various regional and international tourism markets.
Haitham bin Mohammed Al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said that the "Marhaba Dhofar" is one of the important events that the ministry is preparing to host in the coming period in Dhofar Governorate with wide participation from tourism sector partners in the Sultanate of Oman and their counterparts from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He added that the "Marhaba Dhofar" event aims to enhance tourism cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and promote the tourism components that distinguish Dhofar Governorate, including the "Sarb" season and winter tourism.
He explained that the "Marhaba Dhofar" event is expected to attract 50 Saudi tourism companies and 15 media professionals from the most prominent media institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noting that a programme has been prepared for this event that includes discussion sessions and bilateral business meetings between Omani and Saudi tourism companies and visits to the most prominent tourist sites and landmarks in Dhofar Governorate, in addition to field trips to the main tourist attractions in the governorate.
