Muscat: Oman Customs has seized more than 11,500 restricted and prohibited cigarette cartons after it raided a house of an expat in Muscat Governorate.
A statement issued online by Oman Customs said :"The Compliance and Risk Assessment Department raided the home of an Asian worker in Amerat and seized more than 11,500 restricted and prohibited cigarette cartons."
" It also raided a shop in the Seeb market and seized more than 430 cigarette cartons and 305 kilograms of tobacco derivatives, " the statement added.

Women arrested for immoral acts and begging
A group of foreign women were arrested for committing immoral acts and begging in Muscat Governorate.
Royal Oman Police (ROP), said :"Muscat Governorate Police Command arrested a group of women of different nationalities for committing immoral acts and begging. The legal procedures are being completed against them."
One arrested for possessing khat drug
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested a person for possessing more than 100 bundles of khat in Dhofar Governorate.
ROP said in a statement :"Dhofar Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the Special Tasks Unit in Salalah, arrested a person in possession of more than 100 bundles of khat. The legal procedures are being completed against him."
