OQGN implementing number of projects in Sohar and Duqm

Muscat: OQ Gas Networks, (OQGN) the key operator of Oman’s natural gas transmission network announced execution of a number of projects on transmission of gas to the Wilayats of Sohar and Duqm coupled with a project on expansion of the network in pipelines, transmitting gas to the Wilayat of Sur at the cost of OMR150 million.

Mansour Al Abdali Chief Executive Officer of the company said that the company is currently executing a number of projects in several wilayats and is considering various opportunities notably in the wilayats of Sohar and Duqm.

There is also a strategic project in North Oman which will see the light during the upcoming period, he added.

He also pointed to that the company’s profits in the first half of 2024 amounted to OMR28 million.

Saib Project which is opened recently in Dhofar Governorate is one of the vital projects in the governorate, he said adding that the project would contribute to the energy projects in the governorate. The project would boost the economic and social development in Dhofar Governorate.

The in–Country value (ICV) of the project amounted to OMR11 million, he said. The project employs over 300 Omani youth, he added.
