Ministry organises 'Family Sports Carnival' in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, through its Department of Special Activities, hosted the "Family Sports Carnival" today at Al Qurm Natural Park in Muscat Governorate. The event aimed to increase sports awareness, promote physical fitness, and encourage community participation in various sports activities.

Khalifa bin Saeed bin Hassan Al Mazrouei, Head of the Sports Activities Department for Persons with Disabilities and the event’s supervisor highlighted that the carnival is part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to foster a culture of physical activity. He emphasised that the event provided an entertaining environment for families to spend time together while engaging in sports.

The carnival featured various sports and entertainment activities, including a school sports section, sports entertainment, theatre performances, carnival games, a cycling section, a walking track, and a sports medicine area offering medical check-ups and weight measurements. Additionally, a sports corner was equipped with various sports tools and equipment for attendees.

The event also catered to children and families with sections for face painting, photography with characters, virtual reality experiences, and a gifts and raffle area. A special section was dedicated to productive families and other various activities.

This carnival is part of a broader series of activities and initiatives organized by the Ministry to promote sports and physical activity across Oman. The aim is to create recreational and educational environments that appeal to all age groups, reinforcing the importance of sports as a healthy lifestyle choice.
