Muscat: The number of visitors to Khareef Dhofar has seen a significant increase this year, with 816,081 people visiting the region since the start of the season until August 15. This marks a 10.3% rise compared to the same period in 2023, when 739,884 visitors were recorded, according to preliminary estimates released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
NCSI data also revealed that nearly half of the visitors, 49.4%, arrived during the first half of August. The statistics showed a 10% increase in the number of Omani visitors, totaling 567,761. Visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries also rose to 139,781, up from 125,889 last year. Meanwhile, the number of visitors from other nationalities reached 108,540, compared to 97,719 in 2023.
By mid-August, 648,083 visitors had arrived in Dhofar Governorate via land, while 167,998 came by air, representing a 6.2% increase in air arrivals compared to the same period last year.
