Muscat: Forty-five infiltrators of different nationalities were arrested last week by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) and other concerned authorities.
Of the 45, 24 were arrested in Buraimi, 14 in Dhofar, five in Muscat, one in North Al Batinah and another in Musandam.
ROP has also deported 121 other infiltrators, belonging to different Asian and African nationalities, in cooperation with their embassies.
Investigations are on in the cases of 387 other infiltrators, including 24 women, in preparation of legal and deportation action against them.
Housemaid murder case
The accused in a case of torture, which allegedly resulted in the death of a housemaid, have been arrested by the ROP.
The woman was found dead in an underconstruction building in Ibra. According to the forensic report, she died due to an injury on her head, a reliable ROP source in North Al
Sharqiyah said.
The police report said the labourers working at the construction site had stated that she had come to the site in a bad shape. Investigation has led to the arrest of the accused as they were referred to the public prosecutor for further legal action.
