Expat arrested for possessing large quantity of prohibited cigarettes in South Al Batinah

Muscat: An expat has been arrested for possessing and storing 4,000 cartons of restricted and prohibited cigarettes in the Wilayat of Barka, South Al Batinah.

Oman Customs said in a statement :"The Compliance and Risk Assessment Department arrested an Asian man who was in possession of and storing restricted and prohibited cigarettes. His residence in the Wilayat of Barka was raided and 4,000 cartons of cigarettes were seized. The necessary legal measures are currently being taken."
