Muscat: The Rajasthani Wing of the Indian Social Club (ISC), Oman, continues to highlight the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan within the diverse community in Oman.
The Rajasthani Wing organised a grand celebration of the traditional Rajasthani festival, Shravan Utsav -Teej, on August 16, 2024, at the Haffa House Hotel.
The event was a resounding success, with around 80 ladies from the Rajasthani community participating in the festivities. The programme was filled with cultural activities and celebrations that showcased the rich traditions of Rajasthan and the cultural riches, followed by sumptuous food.
Teej festival
The festival of Teej is a beautiful festival for women, celebrated elaborately in Rajasthan. A festival in which all rituals and customs are performed by the womenfolk, beautifully decked up for the occasion. They pray and observe fast whole day for the health and welfare of their husband and family. Teej festival celebrates not only the union of love, but also celebrates Nature, its abundance, the birds, the flowers, the monsoons and the clouds.
The Rajasthani Wing remains committed to enriching the cultural fabric of Oman by organising more such events and initiatives that highlight the traditions, art, and music of Rajasthan. The wing extended its heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Social Club, members, supporters, and the broader community for their continued support.
