Muscat: Pakistan Navy Ship YARMOOK visited Port Sultan Qaboos, Muscat to celebrate the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan on 14 August, 2024.
In morning, a splendid flag hoisting ceremony was performed on ship’s deck. Smartly dressed Ship’s crew presented Guard of honour with playing of national anthem of Pakistan.
The Ambassador of Pakistan along with Defence Attaché and children from Pakistan School Muscat dressed in various colourful Pakistani attire participated in the ceremony. Prayers were also offered for the safety and protection of Pakistan.
In the evening, a reception dinner was also hosted onboard ship which was attended by diplomats including ambassadors and military attaches of various countries, senior officers from Royal Armed Forces of Oman and prominent Pakistani community members.
PNS YARMOOK is on Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP) duties which is Pakistan Navy’s initiative to contribute to regional maritime security, safeguard international shipping and freedom of navigation at high seas.
PNS YARMOOK is part of 14th Destroyer Squadron of Pakistan Navy Fleet and is embarked with organic helicopter and Maritime Security Warfare team.
The ship’s visit was aimed at strengthening the bonds of friendship between Sultanate of Oman and Pakistan in general and Royal Navy of Oman and Pakistan Navy in particular.
Upon departing Port Sultan Qaboos, Muscat Pakistan Navy Ship YARMOOK also conducted Passage Exercise with Royal Navy Oman Ship in Sea of Oman.
