Salalah: A two-day conference titled "Entrepreneurship, Employment and Localization Policies", organized by the Ministry of Labour, kicked off in the city of Salalah today.
The conference discusses the role of entrepreneurship in sustainable economic diversification and the development of non-oil sectors in the Sultanate of Oman.
The event coincides with the business forum themed "Together We Work, Together We Innovate and Prosper". The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Sheikh Salim Mustahail Al Ma’ashani, Adviser at the Diwan of Royal Court.
The conference also discusses the use of artificial intelligence as a tool for planning and sustainable development.
The first day of the conference included two discussion panels, the first of which was titled “The Importance of Localizing Jobs to Serve the National Economy”. The second showcased success models that emanated from the application of job localization in the private sector.
The conference includes three working papers: The first deals with freelance and its role in generating employment opportunities; the second reviews the “National Employment Policy” and the third outlines the Omanization experience at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).
