No monkey pox case detected in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Health confirmed that no case of monkey pox has been detected in the Sultanate of Oman, calling on citizens and residents to follow the news from official sources.

The ministry, represented by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and the Emergency Management Centre, is following up on developments regarding the monkey pox virus after the World Health Organization declared 'monkey pox' a public health emergency.

The ministry confirmed the availability of necessary infrastructure to test and diagnose the disease, and its direct and continuous coordination with the World Health Organization and other international organisations concerned to monitor the infectious diseases.
