Olympics: Decision on Vinesh Phogat's appeal deferred

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has extended till August 16 (to 6 pm-Paris time) the decision on Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat's appeal to be awarded the joint silver medal in the women's 50kg freestyle category, the Indian Olympic Association said.

Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat had appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) following her disqualification from the 50 kg category final at the Paris Olympics.

Phogat, who was set to compete against the United States' Sarah Ann Hildebrandt for the gold medal, was disqualified on Wednesday for breaching the weight limit.
