Duqm Economist Magazine showcases key investments and projects

Muscat: The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz) has released the 36th issue of the Duqm Economist Magazine. This issue highlights numerous projects and investments within the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (Sezad) and the free zones in Salalah, Sohar and Al Mazyunah, as well as in the industrial cities.

The magazine's editorial highlights the efforts of the Authority in attracting various types of investments. These efforts form the foundation for the success of economic diversification policies, as part of Oman Vision 2040, which is considered the primary platform for investments in the Sultanate of Oman.

The magazine dedicated a feature article under the headline “Corporate commitment to health and safety procedures is a priority to ensure a safe environment.” In an interview with the magazine, Engineer Ahmed Harib Al Balushi, Director of the Authority's Compliance and Environmental Affairs Department, emphasized that the health and safety of workers are top priorities in the economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities. He noted that preventive measures help eliminate or reduce workplace accidents and injuries, improve working conditions, and increase worker productivity. All these factors contribute directly to enhancing the work environment, fostering competitiveness and transparency, and creating an attractive investment environment.

The magazine included several topics, one of which is "More than 80 services are provided by the one-stop shop for investors." The Authority explained that these one-stop shops play a crucial role in enhancing the business environment and impact the economic landscape by offering an encouraging environment for innovation, research, and development. This leads to improved efficiency and productivity in companies located in these areas. The magazine also highlighted positive indicators and ongoing opportunities in SEZAD, which is experiencing significant economic momentum and rapid growth.

The magazine, spanning 116 pages in both Arabic and English, discusses the Central Fruit and Vegetable Market (Silal) at Khazaen Economic City, which boosts the wholesale trade sector in the Sultanate of Oman. The Khazaen Economic City emphasized that the market serves as a national and international platform for marketing, exporting, importing, and re-exporting vegetables and fruits. It also acts as a marketing outlet for local agricultural products from producing agricultural companies and local farmers.

The issue covers various topics, including growth indicators, performance metrics, and diverse economic articles. It highlights incentives, facilities, and investment opportunities in the economic, free, and industrial zones of the Sultanate of Oman through infographics and various designs across its pages.
