Astronomy Camp boosts people’s knowledge of space sciences

Muscat: The activities of the 15th Family Astronomy Camp, organised by the Omani Astronomical Society (OAS) concluded at Al-Hajar Al-Gharbi Starlight Reserve in Jebel Shams.

The camp aimed to enhance the public’s understanding of astronomy and space sciences through educational lectures and workshops.

These steps help in expanding the understanding of astronomy among all age groups through interactive activities; in addition to highlighting the Starlight Reserve as a major site for scientific and environmental tourism.

The association targeted all segments of society through this camp; as it is a unique opportunity for families, students and astronomy lovers to enjoy an immersive experience under the clear skies of Jebel Shams.

The 14th Family Astronomy Camp witnessed the participation of about 400 people, which reflects the great and continuous interest in this unique event.

It is worth noting that the camp includes a variety of astronomical and educational activities that aim to enhance astronomical awareness among the public and enrich their knowledge of astronomy.
