Passenger traffic at ‫Salalah Airport rises by 11% since the start of the Khareef season

Muscat: Passenger traffic at ‫Salalah Airport increased by 11 percent since the start of the Khareef Dhofar season 2024, with 10 international airlines operating direct flights from 18 destinations to Salalah 

Oman Airports seeks to provide all facilities to all operators and visitors during the tourist seasons witnessed by the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, especially the Dhofar Khareef season and the winter season; by strengthening its cadres and workers to facilitate the movement of passengers and aircraft.

 Zakaria bin Yaqoub Al Harrasi, Vice President of Salalah Airport, said: “Dhofar Governorate witnesses great tourism activity during the Khareef season, which contributed to an 11% increase in passenger traffic at Salalah Airport, a month after the start of the Dhofar Khareef 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.

He hoped that the increase in passenger traffic through the airport will continue in line with the events and activities held in Dhofar Governorate during this season amid an exceptional atmosphere that attracts Omani and Gulf tourists.

He added: “The number of international operators at Salalah Airport has reached 10 airlines operating direct flights from 18 destinations to Salalah in the Dhofar Khareef season 2024, stressing that the airport management has sought since the beginning of this year to operate the airport at its fullest and highest efficiency, and preparations are currently underway for the winter season that comes after the Khareef season.”

 He explained that "Oman Airports" has launched, in cooperation with its strategic partners, a new, exceptional, free service for all visitors to Dhofar Governorate via Salalah Airport, the "Travel Easier" service, which consists of providing a dedicated hall to complete travel procedures next to the air cargo building at the airport, and aims to receive bags from passengers and deliver the boarding pass before the departure time by a maximum of 12 hours to a minimum of 6 hours, and includes all airlines operating through Salalah Airport, and has been activated daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
