Over one million vehicles registered in Oman in 2024

Muscat : The number of vehicles registered in the Sultanate of Oman during the first half of 2024 amounted to about 1,704,873 vehicles, of which private licensing accounted for 79.6 percent, with a number of 1,356,636 vehicles.

While the majority of vehicles were in engine capacity between 1,500 and 3,000 cc, accounting for 54.3 percent, with a number of 925,144 vehicles, according to statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information.

The majority of vehicles were white, accounting for 42.6 percent, with a number of 726,558 vehicles.

 Commercially licensed vehicles accounted for 14.6 percent, with a number of 248,426 vehicles, while the number of rental vehicles amounted to 36,312 vehicles, representing 2.1 percent, and the number of taxi vehicles amounted to 28,093 vehicles, representing 1.6 percent. In terms of vehicle weights, the number of vehicles weighing less than 3 tons amounted to 1,545,977 vehicles, representing 90.7 percent of the total vehicles registered in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of the first half of 2024.
