Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,627.06 points, down by 0.63% from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.42 percent at 443.94 points. Aman REIT, up 6.59 percent, was the top gainer while, Gulf International Chemicals, down 10 percent, was the top loser. Shares of Sohar International Bank were the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Oman Cables Industry were the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 765 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR3.02 million, with more than 13.55 million shares changing hands. Out of 47 traded securities, 12 advanced, 17 declined, and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net buyers for OMR194,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR186,000, followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR8,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,523.51 points, down 0.2 percent. Prices of Bank Nizwa, Oman Arab Bank were up by 0.97 percent, 0.72 percent respectively. Prices of OMINVEST, Sohar International Bank, Bank Muscat were down by 1.77 percent, 1.46 percent, 0.40 percent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,915.97 points, down 0.73 percent. Prices of Oman Cables Industry, Oman Cement were up by 0.67 percent, 0.25 percent respectively. Prices of Gulf International Chemicals, Al Maha Ceramics, Galfar Engineering, Oman Flour Mills, Al Anwar Ceramics were down by 10 percent, 3.85 percent, 3.27 percent, 1.52 percent, 0.60 percent respectively.
Services Index was down by 0.68 percent before closing at 1,805.76 points. Prices of Al Jazeera Services, Al Batinah Power, Renaissance Services, SMN Power Holding, Oman Education & Training were up by 2.38 percent, 1.39 percent, 1.35 percent, 0.93 percent, 0.74 percent respectively. Prices of Phoenix Power, Barka Desalination, Oman Telecom, National Gas, Muscat Desalination were down by 8.07 percent, 4.00 percent, 3.00 percent, 1.94 percent, 1.37 percent respectively.
