Ministry of Education: 34 centres to assist diploma graduates opens in Oman

Muscat: The Career Guidance and Student Counselling Centre at the Ministry of Education opened on Wednesday.

A total of 34 centres to support General Education Diploma graduates interested in amending their interests and study programmes in the various directorates of the governorates.

The amendment of interests shall be from 24 July to 4 August 2024 through the website of the Unified Admission Centre at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.

The technical support centres aims to guide General Education Diploma graduates and provide them with the information they need for selecting specialisations and university programmes offered by the higher education establishments during the period of amendment of interests and to respond to their enquiries on registration, admission procedures and the vacancies, the terms of various study programmes and specialisations.

The technical support centres are identified by the Directorate General of Education in the governorates in accordance with the expected number of students who will benefit from this service.

The two centres in Muscat Governorate shall be at the Directorate of Education in Seeb and Quriyat.

In South Al Batinah , the centres shall be at the College of Technology and Applied Sciences / College of Education in Al Rustaq; College of Technology and Applied Sciences in Al Musannah and Abdullah bin Wahab Basic Education School ( class 10-12). In North Al Batinah, the centres shall be at the Career Guidance Division at the Directorate General of Education; Um Jafar Al Tayar Basic Education School (Class 5-9); Kaab bin Barsha Basic Education School ( Class 9-12); Liwa Science and Innovation Centre ; Hawa bint Yazid School ( class 10-12) ; Al Asma bint Al Harith School (Class 10-12) and Maryam bint Omran Basic Education School (Class 10-12). Al Dakhiliyah Governorate centres shall be at Nizwa Training Centre; the training Centre in Samail ; Hay Al Saad School ( Class 1-4) in Nahla.

The centres of South Al Sharqiyah shall be at the training centre in Jalan in the Wilayat of Al Kamil Wal Wafi;Sultan Qaboos School (class 9-12) and Sur Al Sahil School (Class 5-8).In North Al Sharqiyah the centres shall be at the training cenre in Ibra ; Um Kalthoum School ; Wadi Bani Khalid School and Lamis School.

In Al Dhahirah, the centres shall be at Omar bin MAsaud School ; Maqniat Basic Education School ; Al Ala bin Al Hadhramu School and Alayat Fida School.

The centres in the Governorate of Al Buraimi shall be at the Career Guidance Division at the premises of the Directorate General of Education.

In Musandam Governorate, the centres shall be Sakina bint Al Hussain School ; Khoula bint Al Azar School and Amna bint Wahab School.

In Dhofar, the centres shall be at the Activity Hall o the directorate of education in Salalah –Al Saada and in Al Wusta Governorate the centres shall be at the Career Guidance Division at the Directorate General of Education; the Training centre in Mahut and Al Kahel Basic Education School.
