GIP conducts 1 billion data exchange operations in 1st half of 2024
Muscat: During the first half of 2024, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology followed up 200 million data exchange requests and observed the processing of one billion transactions through the Government Integration Platform (GIP).
The GIP currently hosts 152 electronic services provided by 32 government institutions. The services benefit 64 entities, including units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus and private sector establishments.
The accomplishment reflects the Ministry’s efforts as part of its plan to enhance the efficiency of government services and improve user experience within the Government Digital Transition Plan.
The platform seeks to streamline procedures and accelerate the fast completion of government transactions by enabling parties concerned to access the necessary data.
The measure limits paperwork and enhances government services, thereby saving the time and efforts of citizens, residents and business sectors.
The GIP constitutes an essential pillar in the digital infrastructure of the Sultanate of Oman. It serves as a common platform for exchanging data in a safe and smooth manner. The GIP also allows government units to exchange data with their GCC counterparts in a centralized and secure manner through the Gulf Network.
