Muscat: The Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, His Excellency Imran Ali, on Wednesday said that the three attackers in the July 15 shootout in Muscat 'had no link or connection with Pakistan.'

In a message on X (formerly Twitter), Ali said: “The three attackers had nothing to do with Pakistan.”
He added, "The Embassy has been doing its best to support citizens and wishes the injured speedy recovery.”

He also said the victims who lost their lives tried to save others. "This was not a Pakistan-targeted operation," he said.  Altogether, four Pakistani nationals were killed in the shootout. "The bodies of two people who were killed will be sent to Pakistan tomorrow," Ali said.

On the policeman who lost his life, Ali said, "He closed the doors of the mosque. If he had not done it, then many people would have been killed."
