Muscat: An Indian national is among those confirmed killed in a tragic shooting incident in the Al Wadi Al Kabir area which took place on Monday night. The incident also claimed the life of one policeman and four Pakistan nationals, while injuring 28 others.
The Indian Embassy in Muscat issued a statement on the incident and said, "Following the shooting incident reported in Muscat city on 15 July, Foreign Ministry of Sultanate of Oman has informed that one Indian national has lost his life & another is injured. The Embassy offers its sincere condolences & stands ready to offer all assistance to the families."
According to the Oman News Agency, three attackers were also killed in the incident. In a statement issued on Tuesday evening, the Oman News Agency had earlier said, “The incident resulted in the deaths of five people, the martyrdom of a police officer, and the killing of the three perpetrators, in addition to injuring 28 people of different nationalities. Among the injured were four individuals, including policemen and Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority personnel, who were performing their national duty. The injured have been transferred to health institutions for treatment. Investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing..”
