New York: The Sultanate of Oman has affirmed its continuous, steadfast support for the relief of the Palestinian people until such time they obtain their full, inalienable rights, foremost of which is their right to live in dignity and their right to establish their own independent state with Al Quds A’Sharqiyah (East Jerusalem) as its capital.
This was unveiled in a statement delivered by Dr. Mohammed Awadh Al Hassan, the Sultanate of Oman’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), before an international conference aimed at backing the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
At the conference, held at the UN headquarters in New York, Oman explained that the conditions of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip became humanly unacceptable. It urged the international community to engage in prompt action to implement resolutions of international legitimacy and protect the Palestinian people.
“In the history of the United Nations, the world has never witnessed the murder of 200 international employees amid inaction by international community in the face of such systematic crimes targeting international relief workers,” Al Hassan observed.
