Oman participates in 5th Japan-Arab Economic Forum in Tokyo

Tokyo: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the fifth Japan-Arab Economic Forum, which concluded today in Japan.

Oman was represented at the forum by Dr. Mohammed Said Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Japan.

In a speech on the occasion, Al Busaidi said that Oman and Japan share advanced economic relations and strong cooperation in areas of education, culture and tourism.

Al Busaidi laid emphasis on the two countries’ cooperation in economic spheres, notably in green hydrogen and energy sectors.

The forum covered a number of topics of interest to Japan and Arab countries, including sustainable economic development, mutual investment, economic diversification, innovation, climate change, green products, the conservation of clean water sources, the recycling of waste, hydrogen and ammonia. It also elaborated on carbon storage and sequestration, new technologies related to telecommunications, artificial intelligence and building resilient supply chains.

The forum was attended by Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko, and Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Saito Ken.
