Security forces in Oman continue to hire job-seekers

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Labour reaffirmed that the military and security apparatuses will continue to employ national job-seekers in accordance with the actual needs of the workforce.

Yahya bin Mohammed Al Battashi, Director of the Department of Other Units Affairs at the Ministry of Labour, said that all citizens registered during the period of submission of applications as per the advertisements released by the ministry and who have met the required terms and conditions but not included in the first sorting, shall be provided an opportunity to compete for the jobs available at the various military and security apparatuses.

“The employment in the military and security apparatuses shall be based on the population density in the wilayats of the Sultanate,” he added.

He said that the employment of the youth in the military and security apparatuses came on top of their interests.

Al Battashi said that a large number of citizens are nominated for employment in the military and security apparatuses provided they are in the age group of under 27 for the Royal Oman Police (ROP), and under 25 for the Ministry of Defence and SAF and Royal Guard of Oman (RGO) and meet other terms and conditions for employment. They should also have the general education diploma certificate and passed the medical and fitness tests, including height and weight, he said.

As for the holders of the university qualifications, work is ongoing for the announcement of the same in the coming days at the various military and security apparatuses, provided they must be aged 27 for the Ministry of Defence and the Sultan Armed Forces and aged 35 years for the ROP.

Al Battashi urged jobseekers with general education diplomas or equivalent qualifications to register their interests in joining the military and security apparatuses through (taj.mol.om) platform and follow the notices of the Ministry of Labour released in the mass media and on the ministry’s accounts on social media.
