Oman weather: Rain likely in many parts of Sultanate

Muscat: Rain accompanied with heavy wind is expected in the Al Hajar mountain area and nearby areas today, according to Oman meteorology department.In a tweet, the department has predicted rain with heavy winds in Dhofar and Al Wusta region too.
Last Wednesday, vehicles were damaged and blown off roads as heavy winds struck different parts of Salalah.
A huge sandstorm had also blanketed Nimr in Marmul and Dhofar areas, some 900kms from Muscat, for hours on Wednesday.
Compared to other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Oman is currently enjoying temperatures hovering around the 35 degrees Celsius mark.
The not-so-cool rest of the GCC is sweating through temperatures of above 44 degrees Celsius.
