Muscat: The Unified Admission Centre at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation announced that the admission results of the first sorting /screening of the Academic Year 2024/ 2025 will be declared in the evening of Thursday, 4 July.
Nada bint Mohammed Al Kiyomi, Director of the Department of Admission at the Unified Admission Centre said that the unified admission system is expected to offer more than 24,500 seats for the 47,917 students registered during the registration period which concluded on 1 June as some modules required admission tests and personal interviews of medical examinations.
However, such procedures will not appear during this sorting process but after the announcement of the results of the general education diploma.
This sorting is an initial presentation for the admission results and depends on the students marks in the first semester, she said, pointing out that the admission centre noticed that 2,611 students with grades 80% and above have not obtained offers for study due to the low number of options of modules they had registered, including 1,126 students who incorporated less than 20 modules in their pages of registration, which may not help them obtain study seats in the final screening.
Such students are encouraged to add more modules to meet their terms and conditions while changing their interests, she added.
The centre also noticed that 3,517 students who did not succeed in the first semester did not register their choice of modules and they have to add their modules in the order set forth in the unified admission system in the period of change of interests (choices) regardless of the current results.
