CDAA ready to provide services to Khareef visitors

Muscat: The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) confirmed its readiness to provide services to citizens, residents and visitors of the Dhofar Governorate during the Khareef season 2024.

The CDAA said that it had approved its operational plans for the Dhofar Khareef season for 2024, which included strengthening its current centres and deployment on the roads leading to Dhofar Governorate in Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, and Al Wusta governorates to deal with reports received by the operation, civil defence and ambulance centres in the governorates.

Two additional junctions were added on the coastal road linking the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate with the Al Wusta Governorate, reaching Dhofar Governorate, and five other junctions on the road from the Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah Governorates leading to the Dhofar Governorate to provide services to the motorists .

The CDAA called on institutions, companies, property owners and buildings to adhere to civil protection requirements by performing the maintenance of facilities, following safety procedures and other safety aspects that limit the occurrence of accidents.

The Authority’s civil protection efforts will also be doubled by inspecting facilities, monitoring violations and taking appropriate measures in this regard.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority continuously seeks to raise awareness among all segments of society by using its official platforms on social media and other outlets, distributing awareness brochures, holding events, and deploying field teams in various locations to raise awareness and provide guidance, while appreciating the role played by various media outlets in enhancing preventive awareness among various segments of society.

The Authority calls on visitors to follow safety guidelines while visiting the governorate, prepare well for the trip, maintain the vehicle, prepare a first aid kit, ensure that the fire extinguisher is in good condition, identify the locations of rest stops and vehicle fueling stations on the trip route, choose the appropriate time to move and stop for a rest in case of feeling tired and exhausted, and adhere to safety rules.

The Authority also stresses the necessity of following safety instructions while staying in the Dhofar Governorate and not swimming in undesignated places such as (springs, water pools) and beaches due to the high sea waves and water currents that increase in intensity with the entry of the fall season, and staying away from dangerous sites, waterfalls, and dangerous heights. Monitor children and do not leave them alone in vehicles, to ensure everyone’s safety.
